The CUET Exam Pattern for 2024 consists of three main sections: Languages, Domain, and General Test. Below is a breakdown of each section along with the question count, marking scheme, and duration:

Section IA — Languages:

  • Candidates can choose from 13 different languages.
  • No. of Questions: 50
  • To be Marked: 40 in each language
  • Duration: 45 minutes for each language

Section IB — Languages:

  • Candidates can choose from 19 additional languages apart from those in Section IA.

Section II — Domain:

  • Candidates can select up to six domain-specific subjects from a pool of 27 options.
  • No. of Questions: 50 per subject
  • To be Marked: 40 per subject
  • Duration: 45 minutes for each domain-specific subject

Section III — General Test:

  • Covers General Knowledge & Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
  • No. of Questions: 75
  • To be Marked: 60
  • Duration: 60 minutes

Time Allotted for the Exam:

  • Slot 1: 195 minutes (3 hours and 15 minutes)
  • Slot 2: 225 minutes (3 hours and 45 minutes)

Additional Information:

  • The test format includes multiple-choice questions.
  • The exam will be conducted in 13 languages, and candidates must select one as the medium of the paper.
  • The question paper for the General Test and Domain Specific Topics will be bilingual, containing the chosen language and English.
  • Candidates can choose up to nine tests, considering the requirements of the universities they are applying to.
  • Marking Scheme:
  • Correct Answer: +5 marks
  • Incorrect Answer: -1 mark
  • Unanswered/Marked for Review: 0 marks
  • Multiple correct options: +5 marks if any of the correct options are marked
  • All incorrect options: +5 marks for all candidates
  • Discrepancies resolved following key verification challenges.
