OVERVIEW OF VITEEE 2024 EXAM DETAILS
VITEEE, which stands for Vellore Institute of Technology
Engineering Entrance Examination, is an annual entrance exam conducted by VIT
(Vellore Institute of Technology) for admission to undergraduate engineering
programs at their university. The exam is a computer-based test and consists of
sections such as Mathematics/Biology, Physics, Chemistry, General Aptitude, and
English. The exam is held in around 120 cities to fill 5000 seats in Chennai,
Vellore, Bhopal, and Amaravati campuses. The admission criteria are mainly
based on the exam score, and the eligibility criteria have to be fulfilled by
the candidates to appear for the exam. The VITEEE exam is an important step for
students aspiring to pursue engineering at VIT and offers a range of
undergraduate engineering programs. The exam for 2024 is scheduled to be held
from April 19-30, 2024, and the application process is currently open.

VITEEE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2024
NATIONALITY- The candidates should be Indian nationals, Non-Resident
Indian (NRI), Person of Indian Origin (PIO), or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
AGE LIMIT- The VITEEE 2024 is open to applicants who were
born on July 1, 2001, or later. If the birthdate on the high school diploma is
correct, that is sufficient. In order to prove their age at VITEEE 2024
Counselling, candidates must show this legitimate certificate; if they do not,
they face the risk of being disqualified.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION-
Those who are interested in applying for VITEEE 2024 must have passed any
one of the following exams or plan to take one in 2024.

The
12th system final Higher Secondary Examination, which is administered by the
Central Board of Secondary Education (CSBE), the State Board, and the Council
for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).
·
Intermediate
or two-year pre-university exams, administered by accredited boards or
universities.
·
International
Baccalaureate Diploma from International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva, or High
School Certificate Examination from Cambridge University.
·
General
Certificate Education (GCE) Advanced (A) test from London, Cambridge, or Sri
Lanka.
VITEEE 2024 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THE QUALIFYING
EXAMINATION

General
Category Candidates: Candidates must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 60%
and above in PCM/PCB in 10+2 or equivalent examinations.
·
Reserved
Category Candidates (SC/ST/OBC): Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes
(SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories are
eligible for a concession of 10% marks. They must have obtained a minimum
aggregate of 50% and above in PCM/PCB in 10+2 or equivalent examinations.
·
Candidates
from Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh and North-Eastern States:Candidates hailing from
Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh,
Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura are eligible
with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in PCM/PCB in the qualifying examination
(+2/Intermediate).
VITEEE 2024 SUBJECT ELIGIBILITY

All
B.Tech. degree programmes are open to candidates who passed the admissions exam
with a maths, physics, and chemistry background.
·
Only
the B.Tech. Bio-stream Degree programmes listed below are open to those who
studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying exam; however,
enrollment in Mathematics as an elective is required after admission. BTech
programmes in biotechnology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, biotechnology, CSE
with a specialisation on bioinformatics, and ECE with a specialisation on
biomedical engineering

Although
admission is determined by the VITEEE ranking, the candidate must meet the
specified eligibility requirements.
VITEEE SELECTION CRITERIA 2024
·
The
CBT (Computer Based Test) VITEEE 2024 rank is used to determine the selection
process.
·
Online
counselling is available to selected candidates in accordance with their
ranking. They can provide options for a certain programme, campus, and fee
category. The distribution process will rely on how well the obtained rank
aligns with the available options.
·
Candidates
with ranks up to one lakh can apply for campus counselling in Vellore and
Chennai.
·
VIT
will confirm a candidate's eligibility once their tuition fee is paid in total
by the deadline. Documents must be submitted by applicants either on the day of
arrival on campus or when requested by the Office of Admissions. The offer of
provisional admission during counselling is only valid provided all requirements
are met.
